ServiceMax Community Usage Guidelines

It’s all about having a good time, building a community and innovating. We pause now for a message from our sponsor - which is less fun, but a necessity to ensure our community grows in the direction we all want.

ServiceMax provides the online community as a service to its customers, partners and members to encourage innovation and support within the Field Service Industry. We’re all here to learn and grow. Please note the following guidelines, have fun, contribute and learn!

  1. This Community is not an official ServiceMax service or technical support channel. While ServiceMax employees may participate, they are not first line responders. The community makes no commitment to provide an answer within a certain time frame after the question is initially posted. For official support of ServiceMax technology, please contact our customer support team through the regular channels.
  2. In addition to these usage guidelines, all use of this community is governed by the ServiceMax Master Service Agreement and our privacy terms.
  3. We’re all here to learn and innovate. Please show respect for others. Maintain a helpful, respectful tone when posting. Opinions are welcome as long as they do not turn into personal attacks, harassment, or rudeness against any community members, employees, or any other party.
  4. Search first! Your questions might have been answered before or may be featured in our content and resources. Let’s try not to duplicate information.
  5. Respect proprietary information. Avoid posting your personal or company’s confidential information.
  6. Most people in the community are here to help. Remember that their advice is theirs only and that you are responsible for deciding whether or not to follow it. ServiceMax does not endorse any user submission or any opinion, recommendation, or advice expressed within this community. We expressly disclaim any and all liability in connection with user submissions.
  7. ServiceMax may offer you benefits and award privileges for your participation in this community. The benefits and privileges provided do not create an employee, agency, or independent contractor relationship between you and ServiceMax, and you may not present yourself as a spokesperson for ServiceMax.
  8. Don’t game the system. We provide badges and points to identify the contributions you make to other community members. Please keep it real.
  9. By sending a submission to the ServiceMax Community, you agree to grant ServiceMax a perpetual, royalty free, non-exclusive worldwide right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, play, make available to the public, and exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to the submission. If you do not agree to these statements, don’t submit anything to the community.
  10. Do not use this community site to sell or market your products and services. Don’t use this community to link to websites that sell or market your products. If you sell a service or product that may support someone’s request, you must include “I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation” in your post.
  11. ServiceMax, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to:
    1. edit and/or remove any post containing or linking to information in violation of these usage guidelines.
    2. terminate the membership of any member who violates these usage guidelines
    3. grant moderator rights to members of the community without creating an employee or agency relationship.
  12. Have feedback? Post it to the Community Help page within the ServiceMax Community, or email us at
